			<description><![CDATA[<P>Public Transit Recordings is extremely proud to present <I>"Variations in Time: A Jazz Perspective"</I> compiled by one of Montreal's finest Djs <B>Andy Williams</B>. <BR><BR>The 13 artists Andy hand-picked to grace Variations do more justice bringing the essence of the "Great Black Music" to life. Whether hip hop, spoken word, soul, free or funky, the diverse artists on this PTR compilation share common ground in the Nile of jazz. Some of the artists include <B>Amiri Baraka, Clifton Joseph, Avram Fefer Trio, Rainer Wrens and Billy Bang</B> plus more. 			<title><![CDATA[Happy New Year]]></title>
			<description><![CDATA[The PTR crew would like to wish a happy new year and all the best for 2008.  Looking back at 2007 it was another memorable one around here.  We finally got our new web design thankfully, and yeah released some fresh beats as well.  <br><br>In '07 We were honoured to work with <a href="http://ptrmusic.com/release.php?catalog_id=PTR-DA012">Nomadic Massive</a> releasing their debut album Nomad's land, check out what exclaim mag had to say about them in their year end review.  <a href="http://www.exclaim.ca/musicreviews/beatsandrhymes.aspx?csid1=117">http://www.exclaim.ca/musicreviews/beatsandrhymes.aspx?csid1=117</a><br><br>We also released three singles towards the end of 2007, <a href="http://ptrmusic.com/release.php?catalog_id=PTR-DA1216">LAL Lost Remixes</a> which is a collection of unreleased remixes that is definitely making some noise.  <a href="http://ptrmusic.com/release.php?catalog_id=PTR-DA1217">Voice Remixes</a> more head nodders courtesy of Think Twice, Moonstarr and Get Nice.  And <a href="http://ptrmusic.com/release.php?catalog_id=PTR-DA1218">Monk Swing</a> a limited 12inch Tribute to Thelonious Monk.  All these releases are getting massive support worldwide and they  are available from the <a href="http://ptrmusic.com/releases.php">PTR online store!</a><br><br>As you may or may not know 2008 will be PTR's <b>10th year </b>so we will be doing events and releases to commemorate this. 			<description><![CDATA[ Introducing Nomadic Massive, the energetic Hip Hop crew from Montreal.  Nomadic Massive is a cross cultural experience that gives you a unique take on hip hop music.  The crew mixes together Latin American, French, Creole, Arabic and African influences with a solid underground hip hop base.    Their Debut album <a href="http://ptrmusic.com/release.php?catalog_id=PTR-DA012"><i>Nomad's Land</i> </a>is dropping Oct 23rd on PTR, each song is steeped rich in meaningful wordplay layered with ideas about social justice. 			<title><![CDATA[Zero Cluster: Deportation feat. LAL]]></title>
			<description><![CDATA[Zero Cluster: Deportation is a multi-facted art installation project headed up by
electronic - international - folk - soul - protest music band LAL
(Rosina Kazi, Nicholas Murray, Ian de Souza, Santosh Naidu and Rakesh
Tewari).  The project features the band in a live performance alongside works from
Toronto-based multimedia artist Faisal Anwar, Montreal-based
projectionist and filmmaker Jose Garcia-Lozano, Zoe Johnson and DJ/producer/sound technician Moonstarr.<br><br>Deportation will integrate live music performance, sound experimentation, video and film projections.  This project employs what LAL terms "Interference Art" - using art to
create dialogue around issues affecting various communities as a means
to deconstruct and counter mainstream ideas on what is "best" for us,
